Yuki Bhambri falls on the final hurdle at the Taipei CH

Taipei CH Update: Yuki upset American world No. 88 Jack Sock 67 (10) 75 63 in a marathon 2 hour 50 minute encounter in the semis at the $125K(+H) ATP Challenger Tournament in Taipei. Sock was leading 67 42 when the Indian former Junior World No 1 began his comeback.

With the final being played on the same day, Yuki came back on the court (albeit not best of shapes) against world no. 64.

Despite being tired and fatigued, Yuki fought valiantly, but eventually succumbed to former world no. 33 Lu with a scoreline of 64 63 in a hour and six minutes

Playing a third match of the day was not going to be easy. The results in the doubles finals were expected. The top seeds Cabal / Farah bt WCs Bhambri / Wang 64 62

With the finals appearance, Yuki gets 146 points (adding to his current tally of 71 points) catapulting him from 477 to inside 300. In doubles, he jumps up just on the verge of top 300 (inside 310).

Not just that, with a finals appearance in both the events, the Delhi lad pockets a total of a little over $15K in prize money
